Crisis? What Crisis?
Buckminster Fuller, in 1962, spoke of planetary instability. Carl Sagan in 1977, spoke of the planet in crisis. Today, individuals like Ervin Laszlo, his Holiness the Dali Lama, Peter Russell, Barbara Marx Hubbard and many others are have been giving the message that the current world state is unstable. Our intent for this blog message is near the end I we share what you can do!
The Current Economic/Financial Crisis
The dominant planetary economic system(s) are in serious crisis. The USA is haggling over possible Default with a debt that is out of control. Today's system is not self-sustaining. It is a system born out of tribal (Ego) formulas based on competition and pits people against people and systems against systems in a planetary Darwin model. The competition model is dead! These old systems were simply designed to keep certain people, families and governments in power and to imprison, if you will, others; and they are not in alignment with the shifting of consciousness taking place on earth, Now. The old systems are fighting for survival, like the dictators of the Middle East, but these old systems are not sustainable.
Ultimately there attempts to continue these competitive systems will be futile. This is because the current economic system are so complex and unmanageable they have taken on a life of their own. These forms of financial systems, as we have all seen recently in the USA, Greece, Spain, Norway and Britain, are based upon greed, control, lies and manipulation. No parent would accept such behavior from their children!
These systems perpetuate a consumerism that is totally out of control. When one billion people consume over 70 percent of material goods, wealth, food, land and water the and 5 billion people live on the rest... these are the actions of an ego mind. In Quantum Mechanics a crisis creates a point of bifurcation. A bifurcation occurs when a small change made to the parameter values of a system causes a split. The new system (if it survives) is simpler while the old becomes so complex and chaotic it collapses.
The economic and financial systems are complex and interconnected. The difficulties currently experienced in the United States Greece and other countries, Default, will affect the entire global economy. How this will happen is guess-work, but we know like with derivatives, everyone has US Treasuries. We have invested so much in our ego (mind/body) identity that we have lost sight of what all the great masters and teachers have told us: We are spiritual beings.
We anticipate further deterioration of the financial markets in the United States, Europe and Asia due primarily to those entrenched power circles, ala Goldman Sacks on Wall Street and in Government, and due to a bureaucratic system that cannot sustain themselves. The corporations have been seen to have little responsibility except toward their major shareholders and highly paid officers (the 2% of the population), remember Tyco, Enron, Worldcom, etc. The government agencies that are responsible for policing and managing egoic corporations are themselves the parasites perpetuating the dominant economic paradigms and these will collapse. This will unquestionably result in the loss of jobs, real income, housing loss and an increase of suffering for individuals. Your immediate safety is your surrounding local neighborhood community, because as the system implodes, it will be local relationships that matter.
The deepening split between haves and have nots will result in more and more cyber terrorism on financial institutions. Terrorism is becoming as sophisticated as any other system.
As difficult as these times are we know from the spiritual masters and great teachers that it can change! But, it requires you to change! It requires groups of people to seed consciousness, which we will explain later.
Ecological Factors
When Carl Sagan gave his prediction in 1977 he felt that we would reach a tipping point within 50 years. Many have warned us of the ecologic damage the planet has sustained in just the industrial revolution. Point, the CIA and UN released reports in the last five years stating, "fresh water will become the next planetary crisis." At one point in the 1970s there was enough fresh water on the planet to give each person (if equally distributed) 7,000 cubic meters of fresh water. As of the year 2000 there was 4,000 cubic meters per person per year on the planet. In parts of the world wjere drought is destroying the land and the people, the Horn of Africa, there is less than 900 cubic meters of fresh water per person. This is a major crisis!
Today, societies are using highly sophisticated technologies and creating ecological crisis after crisis. Companies and countries are racing to mine all the precious metals they can find (these are used in all our electronic devices like cell phones) with a side effect, if you will, of exploiting the people in those countries. China is stockpiling these metals at a rate that should alarm the rest of the world, in the old system. But we have to shift our consciousness to shift the planet's direction.
As chaos increases, over the next several years, you can expect to see radical increases in unintended consequences. The mining for precious metals will impact fresh water supplies, making technology worthless as people struggle to survive. As the elite claim that this will not harm them in their fortress, these will simply become prisons.
In 2007, an Arctic fire along the tundra put as much carbon into the air as the entire Arctic tundra absorbs in a year. The journal nature suggest with Arctic warming coming fast, the team suggests, fires could become more common. Fires are uncommon here because the ground is normal covered with frost, snow or ice. The European Geoscience Union states that by 2016 Arctic summers may become ice free. Ice melts discharge enormous amounts of methane into the atmosphere causing even further greenhouse pressures.
The melting of the Arctic ice and the glaciers are accelerating faster than scientists foresaw. Computer models fail to see the other events, like the fires at the Arctic, the melting permafrost in Siberia and these model will not accurately predict the changes. The Siberian permafrost with more than a million square miles of peat bogs is melting and beneath the sheet of frost is two trillion tons of methane gas. The equivalent of an entire century of fossil fuel emissions. Need I say this will create the most accelerated greenhouse effect ever.
We are seeing how the earth is reacting to our cancerous ways with increased intensity of hurricanes, earthquakes, drought, extreme heat. In Missouri, St. Louis experienced three damaging tornadoes while Joplin experienced a F5's destruction.
Due to these and other climatic changes and pollution, we anticipate increasing food and water shortages over the next two decades.
We have almost fished out the oceans and in some cases entire species are now extinct. The unintended consequences of this are still unknown.
Political
An unprecedented collision of forces is impacting the world. One faction is people feed up with the status quo. The other is the entrenched political hierarchy. Egypt, Libya, Syria, Jordon, and other Middle Eastern countries are seeing the first of many political changes. China, Turkey are also in the pre-stages of unrest as the haves are few and the have nots are many. The facades of everything is OK, the delusions people live with are crumbling.
Our complex societies with the immense technological pressure to innovate and create the next great gadget of consumerism reminds me of the cold war pressures. When the cold wars crumbled we talked to the Russian people and discovered the real cold war was between the two governments. The propaganda about each population insight fear, which is the easiest way to control anyone. This was nothing more than a show of sophisticated tribal mentality.
According to one blogger, "The evolutionary pressures upon individuals and society are extraordinary, and those individuals who are less centered (psychologically imbalanced) may experience an increase in irrational behaviors. Many countries around the world are already seeing a rise in irrational acts and unusual crimes."
Change
What are we to do?
First, we must understand that the world around us is a fabrication of our mind. Therefore, we must change the filters that we use to see the world for the world itself to change. This is not done through will-power. It is done by seeding consciousness. Consciousness is both awareness of our being and the primordial "universal" energy. Therefore, we must become quiet, listen to our higher Power that resides within us and the see, hear and feel (within yourself) the world being harmonious, peaceful and loving. This changes your vibration and attracts to itself these same vibrations in the world.
Next, appreciation is another vibrational. Be appreciative of the world change that it is happening for the good of all beings.. Be appreciative of the harmony and love that will abound.
Remember, we, everyone living today, are the first humans to ever have within our grasp the actual survival of the planet. We have the ability to make the change and human kind can come right to the edge of the cliff but we know that we can do it even if we are at that edge. Buckminster Fuller said of his own enlightened experience that a voice once told him, "Your life doesn't belong to you! It belongs to the Universe. You will never know your impact on this planet."
I say make your stand! Let people know what you are doing through prayer, meditation, affirmation to help steer this planet away from the edge. You will know the impact you have on the planet by doing it.
